With Malaysia shrouded in haze pollution again, BFM speaks with Jia Yaw about this perennial problem
With Hari Raya just around the corner, the country is shrouded again in thick haze and experiencing a heat wave. With the pandemic and favourable meteorological conditions, we have not had serious haze pollutions in the past 3 years. However, recent dry weather coinciding with the harvesting season in the Sub-Mekong region, has led to transboundary haze pollution coming from the north.
In this radio interview for the Evening Edition, BFM's Sharmilla Ganesan speaks with Jia Yaw on:
the causes of this haze pollution
linkages between the haze and the current heat wave
public health and air pollution
measures underway to manage haze pollution
and more
